How to Revitalize the Legacy of Clay Craftsmanship in Sabanilla

To the southwest of the province of Matanzas lies the town of Sabanilla, a place with a rich tradition in the production of clay pipes and pieces since 1975. The factory Tejar Sabanilla Juan Gualberto Gómez, known for its traditional tiles and rasillas, had to temporarily close due to technological problems, ending an era of clay-based production.

However, through our ‘Rescate de Tradiciones’ project, we are determined to revive this noble tradition. We have a qualified team, composed of economic technicians, brick and tile producers, kiln operators, and maintenance personnel, all committed to sustainable development and efficient use of resources.

Our goal is not only to rescue traditional techniques but also to incorporate advanced technology to improve the efficiency and quality of our products. With a strong focus on sustainability and social development, we aim to meet the needs of the local market, including homes, businesses, schools, and health facilities in the province of Matanzas.

Join us on this journey of revitalization and sustainability, where tradition and innovation come together to create a better future for our community.

Embracing the art of clay craftsmanship, we forge a sustainable future while honouring our rich heritage. Join us in preserving tradition through innovation.” —
